Dave Rains - Director of Worship
[email protected] A native of Detroit, Dave has always had a love for music. He studied music at Adrian College (and met his wife Brooke there, which resulted in him relocating to Lenawee County permanently), but his real experience has been the wide-range of involvements in music and ministry. He has been a Music Minister, Minister of Music, Director of Music Ministries, or simply Music Director for over 25 years, including originating the position of Music Minister at Lutheran Church of the Lakes from 1995-2004. He has been a part of over 150 musical theatre productions. He was the principle keyboardist, vocalist and composer for the contemporary Christian band Destiny for 17 years. His experiences have also taken him into positions with the Adrian College Music Department, and the Tecumseh Public Schools choral program. |

Dave Hicks - Deacon
[email protected] Dave was born in Detroit and was raised there and in Dearborn. He met his future wife Nancy while they both worked at Greenfield Village and before he graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Dave was hired by Detroit Edison and enjoyed a rewarding 38-year career in the Fossil Generation and Corporate Fuel Supply departments. During that time, Dave and Nancy were married and raised 3 children while living in Port Huron and Dearborn. After retiring from DTE Energy, Dave and Nancy moved to Cement City and joined LCOL. A desire to be closer to 3 of their 4 grandchildren prompted a move to Erie, PA; however, the pull back to LCOL was too great to overcome and they rejoined LCOL. This move allows Dave to continue his Deacon training so he can work alongside Pastor and with ministry responsibilities at LCOL. |
