Pastor Kurt Lambart - Intentional Interim Pastor

Pastor Lambart was born on August 19, 1968 in Wyandotte, Michigan. He moved around quite a bit as a child, but Grosse Ile, MI was the place he lived the longest, and he graduated from Grosse Ile High School in 1986. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from Central Michigan University in 1990 with a double major in American History and Comparative Religion, and his Masters of Divinity from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO in 1995. He met his wife, Sherri, at Central Michigan University and they were married on February 29, 1992. Sherri is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst working in the health care industry. They have four children – Kelsey born in 1993, Jonah born in 1996, Seth born in 2000 and Maggie born in 2003. Pastor Lambart did his Vicarage at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Janesville, WI. After completing his degree at the seminary, he stayed one more year and was a Student Chaplain in the Clinical Pastoral Education program. He was ordained on June 23, 1996 at his family church of St. Paul in Trenton, MI. He was installed one week later at St. Matthew Lutheran Church and School in Westland, MI as Assistant Pastor. At that time he and Sherri moved to Westland where they reside today. During his tenure at St. Matthew’s, he was promoted to Associate Pastor and then Senior Pastor. In 2018, he was called to be the Vacancy Pastor at St. John Church and School in Rogers City, MI, and in 2019 he was called to be the Vacancy Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Jackson, MI, where he served until January 2023. Pastor’s hobbies include hunting, BBQing, sports including U of M football, and he’s a self- proclaimed Fantasy Football nerd.

Dave Rains - Director of Worship
A native of Detroit, Dave has always had a love for music. He studied music at Adrian College (and met his wife Brooke there, which resulted in him relocating to Lenawee County permanently), but his real experience has been the wide-range of involvements in music and ministry. He has been a Music Minister, Minister of Music, Director of Music Ministries, or simply Music Director for over 25 years, including originating the position of Music Minister at Lutheran Church of the Lakes from 1995-2004. He has been a part of nearly 150 musical theatre productions. He was the principle keyboardist, vocalist and composer for the contemporary Christian band Destiny for 17 years. His experiences have also taken him into positions with the Adrian College Music Department, and the Tecumseh Public Schools choral program.

Leslie was born in Detroit and raised in Grosse Pointe. She moved to the Devils Lake area 35 years ago when she married Keith Snead. Leslie attended Michigan State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in advertising. What followed was a 35-year career in advertising and marketing for companies in Detroit and throughout Lenawee County. She became a member of Lutheran Church of the Lakes 23 years ago when her oldest son, Nicholas, was born. She also has a son, Matthew, who is 29. Leslie enjoys gardening and kayaking among other pursuits.
